Feminist Seeking Crinoline
Yes, it's true. I'm decking out in costume as a 1950s bride at my wedding--which is now 4 weeks away. I figure, if I'm going to be a bride, why not play the role? Though I'm not wearing white--it's blue. And today my cousin Jen and I are going crinoline shopping. If anyone has ideas about where to find an inexpensive one, I'd totally appreciate the tip!

That's a beautiful dress. Have no idea about inexpensive crinoline.
4 weeks away. Very exciting times. My husband and I are celebrating our first anniversary next week. This time last year I was still looking for a florist. When they would ask when the wedding was and I would say "Next Tuesday." The looks I got were priceless. Finally found a young lady who was thrilled for the chance to do her "first wedding" and all was lovely.
I'm also not sure about the crinoline (but do let us know if you find it-- just seems like a good random thing to know).
I used to do some wedding planning and I find that if you're lucky enough to find some young, eager folks who are just trying to get the experience, that actually works out more often than not. It's usually cheaper, and they're a pleasure to work with because they're so excited.
Now if only I could get motivated to start planning my own wedding...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ANNIE! I like that dress pictured here too - though it's not the one I'm wearing :) And Sally, CONGRATS! If it makes you feel any better, I just found a flower grower (we're bypassing the florist) this week. It's all very DIY over here... Found a crinoline yesterday though -- success!
I like reading posts from this site because I always find them informative.
